What
Before working in a folder, Claude Code asks whether you trust it. To decide whether a folder is already trusted, it finds the repository it belongs to and used to walk up from the folder looking for any parent you had accepted.
Now, when a repository's top folder is found but a further check on it fails, trust is limited to that top folder. Trust then counts only if you accepted the top folder itself, not a folder found by walking up.
Why
Trust decides what Claude Code may do in a folder, so this matters for safety. Some folders inside a repository that used to inherit trust may show the trust question again.
