To decide whether a folder is already trusted, it finds the repository it belongs to and used to walk up from the folder looking for any parent you had accepted.\n\nNow, when a repository's top folder is found but a further check on it fails, trust is limited to that top folder. Trust then counts only if you accepted the top folder itself, not a folder found by walking up.\n\n**Why**\n\nTrust decides what Claude Code may do in a folder, so this matters for safety.
