In the part of Claude Code that handles session titles (the short name shown for a conversation), a step now trims any piece of text longer than 2000 characters. It keeps the beginning of the text and puts a marker in place of the removed part, saying how many characters were omitted. Before this change, no such trimming happened there.
Why
In practice, very long text no longer passes through this step at full length. It is probably a limit on how much of your conversation goes into generating a title.
