What probably matters to youSection of the release
What
The footer under the task list shows key hints. The hint for collapsing the list now shows the key you bound to footer:clearSelection instead of always saying "esc". The default keys are:
open: enter
close: x
collapse: escape
stop all: ctrl+x ctrl+k
All hints are shown when the terminal is at least 90 columns wide. That width grows by however much longer your custom key names are than the defaults. When the terminal is narrower, some hints are left out.
Why
The footer now shows the keys you actually use and does not spill over on narrow terminals.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
Confirmed sinceAnthropic's documentation has since written up footer:clearSelection, on Customize keyboard shortcuts.| `footer:clearSelection` | Escape | Clear footer selection |keybindingssee the edit
