What
MCP servers are outside programs that add tools to Claude Code (MCP stands for Model Context Protocol). Some can ask to open a web address, or show you a form to fill in. When the selection in one of these dialogs lands on the Accept option, Claude Code now ignores Enter for a short moment before it will accept.
This covers two dialogs:
- The dialog where an MCP server wants to open a URL. The pause starts when you use the left or right arrow keys to move the selection from Decline onto Accept.
- The MCP form dialog, which runs the same check before it accepts.
Before this change, Enter on Accept acted immediately.
Why
If you pressed Enter a moment too early, for example while still moving between options, that keypress could approve the URL or the form as soon as the cursor reached Accept. The short pause stops a keypress you did not mean for Accept from approving something an MCP server asked for.
