What
Claude Code can shrink the requests it sends to the API with gzip, a common compression format. When a request was compressed this way and a compression level was set, the report Claude Code records about the request now includes that level. Before, the report only covered the encoding, the size and why compression was skipped.

In practice, the compression level becomes visible in these reports. Nothing changes in how Claude Code behaves.
