Usage-credit messages now depend on your role and on whether /usage-credits is available

Usage credits are extra paid usage beyond what your plan includes. The messages Claude Code shows when you reach a limit or need usage credits now change depending on your role and on whether the /usage-credits command is available to you. This goes further than the earlier change to the 1M-context message:
Spend-limit messages no longer use the fixed text " · run /usage-credits to raise it, or visit claude.ai/admin-settings/usage". The command name now comes from a lookup (EKe), and the command is only suggested when it is enabled and not turned off with DISABLE_EXTRA_USAGE_COMMAND.
For members of a Team or Enterprise plan, spend-limit messages suggest running that command to ask your admin for a higher limit.
The 'Fast mode requires usage credits' message and the 1M context usage-credit message now end differently by role.
Team or Enterprise admins, billing staff and owners are told to "turn on usage credits at claude.ai/admin-settings/usage".
Other Team or Enterprise members are told to "ask your admin to turn on usage credits".
Everyone else gets a link to claude.ai/settings/usage.
If /usage-credits is available, the message points to that command instead.
Why
Team and Enterprise members without billing access are no longer pointed at an admin settings page they cannot use; they are told to ask their admin instead. If your organization sets DISABLE_EXTRA_USAGE_COMMAND, these messages stop suggesting a command you cannot run.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
