What
Claude Code draws its terminal interface with React, a library for building user interfaces. Sometimes several keypresses arrive together in one chunk of input, for example when you type fast. When commitsBetweenKeys() is true, Claude Code now finishes the pending React updates after each key in the chunk, including the last one, before handling the next key.
Why
Each key's effect is applied before the next key is handled, rather than several keys being processed against the same unfinished state.
