What

A new internal message has been added to the output that programs using the SDK read. It has type system and subtype per_turn_effort_changed, and carries per_turn_effort_active, which is always false.

It is sent when the conversation stops sending an effort setting on each turn (a turn is one exchange of your message and the reply). That happens when the server refuses either the per-turn effort message or a message with role:"system". The subtype is also added to a list used by the message filter.

Why

A program watching the output can now tell that per-turn effort has been dropped for the rest of the conversation, rather than assuming it is still being sent.
