What
The SDK lets another program run Claude Code and answer its permission questions. When that program allows a tool and includes an updatedPermissions entry of type setMode, Claude Code now switches to the mode named there. It accepts "default" or "acceptEdits".
Why
A program built on the SDK can now approve a request and change how later requests are handled in the same answer, for example moving to acceptEdits so file edits stop needing approval each time.
