The footer at the bottom of the screen used to list every artifact as its own row. You could move between the rows, and it showed the hints "to navigate", "Enter to open" and "x to dismiss", plus a line with the artifact's web address that could be expanded. That list is gone.
In its place is one small badge:
- One artifact: the badge shows the artifact's name.
- More than one: the badge shows how many there are.
- Screen readers: the badge is read aloud as "artifact " or "N artifacts".
The badge switches its colours when the mouse is over it, and it can be clicked. Artifacts with the same slug (the short name used in its address) are now counted once. The app:openArtifact action still opens the most recent artifact, but it no longer expands a frame panel or starts a timer that collapses it again automatically.
The footer takes up less room, and duplicates no longer inflate the count. The keyboard hints for moving through, opening and dismissing individual artifacts are no longer shown, so the badge and app:openArtifact are what is left for reaching an artifact from the footer.
The finding does not say what clicking the badge does.
