In screen-reader mode, the setting that shapes Claude Code's output for software that reads the screen aloud, quoted text (a blockquote) is handled differently:
blockquote text no longer starts with a spoken "blockquote: " label.
The whole quoted text is marked for a row-prefix marker instead, reported through a new rowPrefixRanges value.
When a long line wraps onto several screen rows, the prefix is repeated on every wrapped row, as long as at least 2 columns of width remain.
The prefix also appears on empty lines inside the quote.
Why
Each row of a quote now carries its own marker, so a screen-reader user can tell a wrapped or blank row still belongs to the quote. The single label at the start is gone.
