The built-in responsive-mode feature, where Claude replies in a sentence before thinking or using tools, is now held back when Claude Code runs inside Slack or Teams. Claude Code tells this from the CLAUDE_CODE_ENTRYPOINT environment variable, a value that records how Claude Code was started. Responsive mode is not offered when that value is any of these:

Everywhere else it is still behind the tengu_quiet_ember gate, which the code treats as false when the flag server gives no answer.
If you use Claude through Slack or Teams, responsive mode is not offered there, whatever the gate says for your account.
