Claude Code tells this from the `CLAUDE_CODE_ENTRYPOINT` environment variable, a value that records how Claude Code was started. Responsive mode is not offered when that value is any of these:\n\n- `claude_in_slack`\n\n- `claude-in-slack`\n\n- `claude-in-teams`\n\nEverywhere else it is still behind the `tengu_quiet_ember` gate, which the code treats as false when the flag server gives no answer.\n\n**Why**\n\nIf you use Claude through Slack or Teams, responsive mode is not offered there, whatever the gate says for your account.\n\n- Flag `tengu_quiet_ember`: Off in both readings (read for one account on one subscription tier against v2.1.281; this account: off, anonymous baseline: off, compiled default: off) These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release."}
