A plugin marketplace is a catalogue plugins are installed from. Plugin updates now treat the anthropic-plugin-directory marketplace and pluginDirectory sources specially:
The marketplace is refreshed before updating.
Results can report directoryRefreshFailed and directoryNotChecked.
When a directory pin exists, git-subdir copies are fetched with submodule.recurse=false.
Updates return a new pinChanged field.
Version-tag matching is skipped for directory plugin ids.
A new commit check runs as well. In this build it refuses to install or update pinned directory plugins, with a message saying this build of Claude Code cannot verify them.
Why
If you install or update a pinned plugin from the Anthropic plugin directory, expect it to be refused for now.
