What
Managed settings are rules an organization sets for everyone's Claude Code. They can be fetched through an LLM gateway, a server the organization uses to route requests to the model. New startup messages cover what can go wrong:
- The gateway "is not an accepted source" for the settings.
- The machine is "no longer reaching it from inside your organization's network".
- The policy "could not be loaded".
- The gateway has no Claude Code policy for Desktop, with a pointer to
serve_to_desktop. - "Starting without your organization's managed settings", shown when the settings are not required.
Why
If your organization's settings do not arrive, Claude Code now tells you why and whether it is starting without them, rather than leaving you to guess.
