What
Directory sync copies file changes between locations. When a file Claude changed is open in another program on your machine, sync now leaves that file alone and shows a warning that the files "are open in other programs here and were left as they are." The next sync tries those files again once the program has closed them.
Why
You are told when a change has not been applied yet and why. Closing the other program lets the next sync finish the job.
