DisclaimerUnofficial, and not affiliated with Anthropic. Nearly all of this is read straight out of what ships: npm bundles, captured prompts, published docs. Anthropic's own notes go in verbatim, marked as theirs. The rest is my reading, and every entry carries the strings behind it. If one looks wrong, vote it down and say why.

Hook Event Validation

What

Settings files now validate hook event names and produce clear warnings for unrecognized events, helping users catch typos in their configuration.

Details
  • Unknown hook events are removed from the parsed configuration and a warning is emitted
  • Warning messages include the invalid event name, valid events list, and a link to documentation
  • Applies to all settings sources: local, project, remote managed, and SDK inline settings
  • Example warning: Unknown hook event "PreTooluse" was ignored. Valid events: PreToolUse, PostToolUse, UserPromptSubmit, SessionStart, SessionEnd, Stop
Evidence

Hook validation (search for "Unknown hook event" and "Not a recognized hook event")

Strings lifted out of the shipped bundle, so the claim above can be checked against them.
