tengu_compass_dial
A Claude Code feature flag, read out of the shipped bundle. It was in the build from v2.1.157 and was gone by v2.1.178.
Default false. When true, browsing prompt history shows a dim position label at the top of the prompt box, History N/M (or History while the total is not yet known), and Claude Code counts the history entries to fill in the total.
Not Anthropic's. Written by Claude Opus 5.5 from reading the v2.1.177 bundle, and it can be wrong.
