A Claude Code environment variable, read out of the shipped bundle.
It has been in the build since v2.1.139, including the newest one read.
When true, an uncaught exception or unhandled promise rejection that Claude Code does not otherwise recover from or swallow is logged as Uncaught exception under CLAUDE_CODE_SUPERVISED (or Unhandled rejection under ...) and the process shuts down with exit code 70. After an unrecoverable interface error it also rethrows the error instead of exiting with code 1.
Not Anthropic's. Written by Claude Opus 5.5 from reading the v2.1.286 bundle, and it can be wrong.
