CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_USE_ZIP_CACHE

A Claude Code environment variable, read out of the shipped bundle. It has been in the build since v2.1.138, including the newest one read.

What it is

Nobody has written a line about this one. It is not in any of Anthropic's reference tables and no changelog entry here carries a description of it. It is in the build, which is the whole of what this page can claim.

A row reading never mined is a release with no archived bundle behind it. Nothing was read out of it, so nothing here says whether the name was in it. A declared type or a default is only ever what that release's own bundle stated.

Changelog entries naming it

No changelog entry here has ever named it. That is a statement about what has been written, not about the name: it has been in the build since v2.1.138 without anybody writing a line about it.

CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_ATTRIBUTIONYou can declare where a plugin came from via a JSON file or an environment variable. never mined CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_BINARY_ASSETSNo description from anybody. 2.1.196 CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_CACHE_DIROverride the plugins root directory. Despite the name, this sets the parent directory, not the cache itself: marketplaces and the plugin cache live in subdirectories under this path. Defaults to ~/.claude/plugins 2.1.138 CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_GIT_TIMEOUT_MSTimeout in milliseconds for git operations when installing or updating plugins (default: 120000). Increase this value for large repositories or slow network connections. See [Git operations time out](/docs/en/plugin-marketplaces#git-operations-time-out) 2.1.138 CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_KEEP_MARKETPLACE_ON_FAILURESet to 1 to skip the re-clone attempt and keep using the existing marketplace cache when a git pull fails. Useful in offline or airgapped environments where re-cloning would fail the same way. Applies to plugin install and update, and to /plugin marketplace add and update. Useful in CI runners, containers, or any environment without a configured SSH key for github.com 2.1.141 CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_SEED_DIRPath to one or more read-only plugin seed directories, separated by : on Unix or ; on Windows. Use this to bundle a pre-populated plugins directory into 2.1.138
