Anthropic's own notes go in verbatim, marked as theirs. The rest is my reading, and every entry carries the strings behind it. If one looks wrong, vote it down and say why.

Claude Code v2.1.97

Cedar Policy Language Syntax Highlighting

What

Code blocks written in the Cedar policy language are now syntax-highlighted in Claude Code output.

Details
  • Recognizes cedar and cedarpolicy as language identifiers in fenced code blocks
  • Highlights keywords (permit, forbid, when, unless, if, then, else), built-in types (principal, action, resource, context), and standard Cedar constructs
  • Cedar is Amazon's authorization policy language — useful when working with AWS Verified Permissions or custom Cedar policies
Evidence

Language definition with name: "Cedar", aliases: ["cedarpolicy"] (search for "permit forbid when unless if then else in has like is")

Strings lifted out of the shipped bundle, so the claim above can be checked against them.
