Unclear Which setups get the detailed message is not known, though it may be gateway sign-in.

What

A 403 error means the server refused access. When Claude Code's sign-in check fails this way in some setups, the error now includes a shortened copy of the explanation the server sent back, cut off at a set length. Before, it always showed the same fixed message.

Why

The error is more likely to say what actually went wrong with your sign-in.
