Unclear What the new check looks at, so when the restrictions now apply outside a session.
What
Previously, when there was no session, Claude Code allowed any sign-in method. Now it does that only if a new check also allows it. Otherwise the same limits used inside a session can apply:
A refusal such as "Signing in isn't available here: this cloud session was started with your Console sign-in, and a claude.ai sign-in can't be used for it."
A rule that keeps you to a set sign-in method
Why
Sign-in limits may now stop you in situations where any sign-in used to work.
