What
Besides the main conversation, Claude Code sometimes sends smaller side requests to the model. A side request is a separate, short call made in the background. After each one, Claude Code now calculates what it cost and records it. If it cannot work out a price, it writes sideQuery: not priced: to its log.
Why
Spending on these side requests now shows up in Claude Code's cost tracking, where before it was left out.
