Claude Code can serve its tools remotely, letting a session elsewhere use tools on this computer. The messages explaining why it is not doing so have changed:

  • The platform message now says it needs macOS, Windows, or Linux outside WSL, instead of macOS or Linux. WSL is the Linux environment that runs inside Windows.
  • New messages cover Windows not saying where the computer keeps its profile folders, and say that restarting tries again.
  • On Windows, the message still says Claude Code does not serve tools from a Windows computer yet.
Why

The wording points to Windows support being prepared, but serving tools from Windows does not work yet.
