What

The login screen has new groundwork for a different kind of sign-in.

  • onHybridSignIn is a new option on the login screen. It stores the sign-in result and, when sign-in succeeds in the new hybrid state, calls this option instead of the usual finish step.
  • settingsOnlyGrant is a new option on the OAuth flow (the browser-based sign-in). It asks for an extra permission scope and sends you to a different page after success.

Why

Nothing here is described as switched on for users yet. In practice it means a new sign-in mode is being prepared, possibly one that grants access to settings only.
