What

Claude Code now checks workflow scripts before running them. If a / could be read either as the start of a regular expression (a text pattern) or as a division, the script is not run. The error message tells you to end the statement with ;. This check sits behind a remotely controlled switch.

Why

Claude Code rewrites workflow scripts slightly before running them. This check stops a script from being misread after that rewrite and doing something you did not intend.
