What
When Claude Code runs a shell command, it keeps timing details about the run. Those details now also include left_running_programs, a record of programs the command left running in the background after it finished.
Claude Code can also now count how many tool requests from a remote session it is currently serving. A tool request is Claude asking to use one of its tools, such as running a command.
Why
This gives Claude Code a record of background processes a command leaves behind.
