What
The task panel lists work running in the background. Claude Code clears finished entries from it automatically. That now applies to these kinds of task:
shell commands run in the background
MCP monitors
MCP tasks
remote agents
local workflows
A task is now cleared only when it is not running, pending or paused. Before, fewer kinds were covered, there was no status check, and the check for MCP tasks did not work as intended. Opening the detail view for a selected entry now works whatever its status.
Why
Background tasks that are still active are no longer cleared from the panel or hidden before they finish.
