What probably matters to youSection of the release
What
--system-prompt-snapshot controls whether Claude Code records a copy of the system prompt, the instructions given to the model before your conversation. Its help text now says on is the default except when you run with --bare outside cloud and background sessions. --bare is a minimal mode that skips loading most of your customizations so scripted runs start faster.
The help text no longer says the flag has no effect where system prompt recording is not yet enabled.
Why
If you run --bare locally and want the snapshot, pass --system-prompt-snapshot with on explicitly.
