What
An agent here is a helper that Claude starts to work on part of a task. After a restart, Claude is shown a list of stopped agents it can pick up again. That list used to say every agent resumes as a general-purpose agent. For some tasks it now says the agent resumes "as the agent type it ran as".
It also tells Claude that if that agent type is not available right now, the resume is refused, and that it can try again or start the agent again.
Why
This changes what Claude is told about picking up agents after a restart, so a resumed agent can keep the role it had instead of becoming a general-purpose one.
