Unclear Which arguments /login accepts, and whether it now works inside cloud sessions, is not stated.
What
A cloud session is a Claude Code session that runs on Anthropic's servers instead of your own computer, which you can open with --cloud. Claude Code used to show a tip when you tried /login in a cloud session: exit, run claude /login, then use claude --cloud <session-id> to reattach. That tip has been removed.
The /login command now reads an argument typed after it. If it does not recognise the argument, it shows a message saying so.
Why
The removed tip suggests /login may no longer need that exit-and-reattach workaround inside cloud sessions. If you type something after /login, Claude Code now tells you when it does not understand it instead of ignoring it.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
Confirmed sinceAnthropic's documentation has since written up /login, on Error reference. Each of these messages from `/login`, `claude auth login`, or `claude setup-token` means Claude Code couldn't open the port on `127.0.0.1` where your browser returns the sign-in result.errorssee the edit
