What
Some sessions let Claude run commands on a separate machine, called a remote machine. When no such machine is attached any more, Claude Code now tells the model so in plain words: "No machine is attached to this session any more". It also tells the model to leave out the machine choice and run the command in the current session instead.
A guard on saving settings has also changed. In a session that does not keep settings on disk, an attempt to save settings now returns an error saying "This session does not write settings to disk" instead of writing them.
Why
When a remote machine has gone away, or a session cannot save settings, the attempt now fails with an explicit explanation instead of an unclear result.
