Unclear Nothing shown here turns on endProcessOnExit or the tab handoff, so it is unclear whether a reader ever meets them.
What
Attaching to a remote session (connecting your terminal to a Claude Code session running elsewhere) gained an endProcessOnExit option. When it is set, leaving the attached screen ends the Claude Code process.
The exit step can also detect that you left for another tab, and in that case swaps the screen without ending the process. Nothing in this release was seen setting the new option.
Why
In practice this lays groundwork for an attach flow that can hand you off to another tab without closing Claude Code.
