What

The managed skills folder is a system-wide folder an administrator uses to provide skills (reusable instructions) to every user on a machine. Claude Code now skips it when the session takes its managed settings from its organisation. It logs that the folder was not read because the session's own account could have written to it.

CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_POLICY_SKILLS still skips the folder as before. Skills that are loaded from the managed folder now also pass through an extra check.

Why

In an organisation-managed session, a user account could otherwise put files in the managed folder and have them loaded as if an administrator had provided them.
