What
Auto memory is Claude Code saving notes on its own for later conversations. It can be turned off for the current session, and memory can also be paused by a command.
When you turn auto memory off for the session, Claude Code now also clears the paused-by-command state. It does this only when your account's memory setting for sessions is not "off".
Why
The session-level switch and a command pause no longer sit on top of each other: turning auto memory off replaces the earlier pause.
