Unclear Which other sources of an end-of-turn request are now covered is not stated.

What

Claude Code can add a short note to the conversation that keeps Claude's turn going when a tool call in the same batch failed. Before, this only applied when the request to end the turn came from an MCP tool, one of the outside tools Claude Code connects to through MCP (Model Context Protocol).

It now applies to requests from other sources too. It is skipped only when there is no source or the source is a regular tool.

The behaviour still sits behind a switch that is off unless turned on remotely. v2.1.301 shipped it off by default.

Why

Many more situations can now lead to this note, but only where the switch is turned on.
