What
Claude Design is Anthropic's design tool, used by the /design and /design-sync commands. Claude Code now carries notices about standalone Claude Design (claude.ai/design) shutting down.
A message says standalone Claude Design closes by December 14, 2026 and now lives in Claude.
A sign-in notice, shown when signing in for /design-sync or /design consent, says the standalone sign-in still works until then and points to a support article.
The description of the Claude Design project tool now tells Claude that if the server refuses a call because standalone Claude Design or the project has closed or moved, it should give you the server's message as written and stop.
Why
If you use Claude Design from Claude Code, you now get a dated warning, and when a project is unavailable you see the server's own explanation instead of Claude retrying or guessing.
