Unclear Which sessions run without writing to disk is not stated.
What
An attachment is a file sent into the session. Claude Code used to always try to save incoming attachments to disk. In a session that writes no files to the machine's disk, it now refuses them with the reason: "this session is diskless and writes no files to this machine's disk".
Why
When an attachment does not arrive in such a session, you get a clear reason instead of an unexplained failure.
