What
Claude Code can move, or teleport, your work into a cloud session that runs on a remote machine. When it does, it now:
- Starts its GitHub App check early, before the other steps.
- Asks GitHub whether your branch exists there, within a 15-second time limit.
- Looks up the starting point again without your local copy of the remote branch when GitHub has no such branch.
- Keeps track of an out-of-date branch and the commit it found for it.
- Writes separate warnings for you and for Claude.
It previously worked out the branch in one step without asking GitHub.
Why
Warnings about work you have not pushed to GitHub, which a cloud session cannot see, should now be more accurate.
