Unclear It is not clear whether that skills text now reaches forked subagents some other way.

What

The system prompt is the standing set of instructions Claude receives before your conversation. A piece of text called skillsPersistencePrompt, about skills, is no longer passed in when it is built.

  • It is removed from the main system prompt assembly.
  • It is also removed when the Agent tool runs a fork, a copy of the current agent working on a side task.
  • For forks, the check for whether the call is direct now uses isDirectCall: !e.innerCall && e.hookCaller === void 0, based on innerCall, instead of a local value.

Why

Claude, and forked agents in particular, may no longer receive the skills persistence instructions they got before, which can change how they handle skills during a session.
