What
Claude Code chooses its temporary folder from CLAUDE_CODE_TMPDIR, or uses a default when that variable is not set. It now makes a note each time it looks this up. Which folder it uses has not changed.
Why
This may track how the temporary folder is used. Nothing changes about where temporary files go.

The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
