Unclear It is not clear whether removing fails in every app that shows the session list or only in some.
What
The list of cloud sessions (sessions that run on Anthropic's servers rather than on your machine) changed how sessions are removed and how the list loads.
archiveRemoteSessionis gone from the session list. Removing a session now goes through a newremoveRemoteSession.- In the fleet view (the overview of all your sessions), archiving now calls
removeRemoteSessionand adds up the results: how many sessions were deleted, how many failed, how many routines (scheduled or repeating tasks) were paused, and how many may still run. - Failures now carry a categorised reason instead of always reporting
archive_failed. - In this build,
removeRemoteSessionalways resolves to a failure with the reasongate_off. - The list now tracks whether older sessions remain to be loaded (
remoteListHasOlder,moreRemain), andlistRemoteSessionsnow takes an argument.
Before this release, archiving called archiveRemoteSession, which threw an "archive rejected" error on failure, and the failure reason was always archive_failed.
Why
Removing cloud sessions is being reworked to report a clearer summary of what happened, including routines it paused. Because the new call fails with gate_off in this build, archiving cloud sessions from this list may not work for now.
It is not clear whether removing fails in every app that shows the session list or only in some.
