Unclear What either switch does inside the VS Code extension is not known, particularly the restore breaker.
Claude Code now sends two more remotely controlled switches to its Visual Studio Code extension:
tengu_vscode_math_rendering, for rendering mathstengu_vscode_restore_breaker, for something called a restore breaker
Both fall back to on when the server sends no value. Claude Code itself only passes them along, and the extension decides what they do.
These look like VS Code features that are switched on unless they are turned off remotely. They are controlled from the server rather than by a setting you can change.
