Unclear It is not clear in which cases the advice to push is still shown.
What
When you start a cloud session (Claude Code running on a remote machine) from a local copy of your repository, Claude Code checks your branch first. It now looks up the branch name differently and has a fallback if the first lookup fails.
The warnings for a detached HEAD (no branch checked out) or an unchecked branch used to always tell you to push your work. That advice is now shown only in some cases. A warning can also say your branch "shares no history with" the remote as it was last fetched.
Why
The warnings you see when starting a cloud session from your machine may differ from before.
