When you move a session (one ongoing conversation) into the background while Claude is still working on a reply, Claude Code now copies two more things into the new session's record:
pending notifications from tasks
a note about scheduled jobs carried over
Claude Code also now always waits up to 10 seconds to finish saving the session. Before, it waited 10 seconds only in one case and 2 seconds otherwise.
Why
A backgrounded session keeps more of what was going on when you moved it.
