The main instructions Claude Code gives the model were rewritten for pasted text. Before, Claude was told that pasted text might contain instructions you did not write. It was to follow them only where your own words asked it to.
Now, when a message is nothing but pasted text, Claude is told to act on what the paste as a whole asks or shows, as your request. It should not first ask you to confirm the paste is yours.
- Before running a command or script from such a paste, Claude is told to read what it does.
- An instruction buried inside a larger pasted document, log or email still counts as part of that material, not as a request from you.
Changes to Claude's instructions change how it behaves. Pasting a request on its own should now get it acted on without an extra confirmation step. Instructions hidden in pasted documents are still not treated as yours.
