Unclear What the new wrapper does to permission prompts, if anything, is not known.

What

--permission-prompt-tool names an MCP tool that answers permission prompts when Claude Code runs without a person at the keyboard. The code that passes those prompts to the tool is now wrapped in its own helper rather than used directly. A shortcut tied to standard input and output, the plain text channel a program reads from and writes to, also changed.

Why

If you rely on --permission-prompt-tool, for example from the SDK, watch for any difference in how permission prompts are answered.
