What
MCP servers are add-on programs that give Claude Code extra tools, and some run long jobs called tasks. A task can ask you for input by sending a link, which is called URL elicitation. If link requests are not switched on for that connection, Claude Code now logs that link requests are switched off and cancels the task. Before, the request went straight on to be handled.
Link requests are on by default in the code unless they are switched off remotely.
Why
If an MCP task you start is cancelled when you expected to be sent a link, link requests being switched off is a likely reason.
